What to consider

Size and resolution

For wearables — 0.96-1.3″. For panels — 2.4-5″. Higher res = sharper image, more memory needed.

Interface

SPI — fast, 4-5 wires. I2C — 2 wires, slower. Parallel — for large displays, many GPIO.
🎨

Color depth

Mono — simpler, less memory. 65K colors (16-bit) — standard for TFT. 262K (18-bit) — better graphics.

Brightness and viewing angles

IPS — wide angles, more expensive. TN — cheaper, narrower angles. OLED — ideal contrast, limited lifespan.

Power consumption

E-Ink — minimal, only when updating. OLED — depends on content. LCD with backlight — constant.
