BMS: cell count (S)

1S = 3.7V, 2S = 7.4V, 3S = 11.1V, 4S = 14.8V, 6S = 22.2V. Choose BMS for your pack config.

BMS discharge current

Must exceed max load current. For drones usually 60-100A, for tools 30-50A.

Chemistry type

Li-Ion (3.6V/4.2V), LiPo (3.7V/4.2V), LiFePO4 (3.2V/3.6V). Different BMS and chargers!

DC-DC efficiency

Higher efficiency = less loss and heat. Synchronous converters are more efficient than async.

Thermal regulation

BMS with temp sensor protects from charge overheating. Important for high-power packs.
⚖️

Balancing

Active balancing BMS costs more but extends battery life. Passive — cheaper but less effective.
